Youth workers in Scotland actively encourage young people to be politically aware. Every local authority supports both youth council members and MSYPS. Ronnie Crichton, a youth participation officer from South Lanarkshire will explain what happens in his local authority. Although every local authority has a youth council it runs in slightly different ways. However the Youth Parliament is Scotland's democratically elected voice of Scottish Young People and runs in cohesion.
